FAQ

Confused? Here is a simple FAQ for review

What is Detailing?

Mobile car detailing is a full professional detail — interior and exterior — performed at your home, office, or driveway instead of a shop. We bring our own water, power, and equipment, so you never have to drop your car off or wait around. It's the same hand-detailing process you'd get at a shop, just done at your curb.

‍ ‍

What areas of the GTA do you service? We provide mobile detailing throughout Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Markham, King City, Oakville, and Vaughan. If you're just outside these areas, contact us — we may still be able to accommodate you depending on scheduling.

‍ ‍

Do I need to provide water or electricity? Right now.. yes First Call Mobile Auto Detailing is still growing and access to a water outlet and power outlet is required so we can detail your vehicle in any driveway, condo garage, or parking lot.

‍ ‍

Is First Call Mobile Auto Detailing licensed and insured? Yes. We are fully licensed and insured, so your vehicle is protected throughout the entire detailing process. This also means you can book with confidence knowing you're working with a legitimate, accountable business — not an unlicensed detailer.

‍ ‍

Can you detail my car at a condo or apartment building? Yes, we may be able detail vehicles in condo parking garages, apartment lots, and office parking spaces across the GTA. (as long as access to power and water is available) Just let us know your building's access requirements (visitor parking, gate codes, etc.) when you book.

‍ ‍

Pricing & Timing

‍ ‍

How much does mobile detailing cost in the GTA? Pricing depends on your vehicle's size and condition, along with the package you choose — interior only, exterior only, or a full interior & exterior detail. See our Services page for full package pricing, or contact us for a fast, no-obligation quote.

‍ ‍

How long does a mobile detail take? Most single-vehicle details take between 1.5 and 4 hours, depending on the package and how much cleanup the vehicle needs. Heavily soiled interiors, pet hair, or paint correction work can take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.

‍ ‍

How often should I get my car detailed? Most detailers recommend a full detail every 4–6 months. If you already wash and vacuum your car regularly, twice a year is usually enough. If you commute daily, have kids or pets, or drive through winter road salt, detailing every 2–3 months will keep your interior and paint in better condition long-term.

‍ ‍

Services & Packages

‍ ‍

What packages do you offer? We offer Interior Services, Exterior Services, combined Interior & Exterior Services, and Fleet Services for businesses with multiple vehicles. Each package can be tailored to your vehicle's needs — see our Services page for full details.

‍ ‍

What's the difference between a car wash and professional detailing? A car wash is a quick, automated exterior clean — and can actually introduce swirl marks into your paint from the brushes used. Professional detailing is done entirely by hand, is far more thorough, and covers both interior and exterior surfaces to restore your vehicle to a like-new condition rather than just rinsing off surface dirt.

‍ ‍

What's the difference between waxing and polishing? Waxing applies a protective sacrificial layer over your car's paint to guard against sun, dirt, and minor scratches. Polishing uses a mildly abrasive compound to physically correct the paint — removing swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation that has built up over time. Most full details use both: polish to correct the paint, then wax to protect it.

‍ ‍

Can mobile detailing remove pet hair, odours, and deep stains? Yes. Our interior services include deep vacuuming, steam cleaning, and shampooing that lift embedded pet hair, ground-in dirt, and stubborn odours from fabric seats, carpets, and mats — problems a standard vacuum or car wash can't fix.

‍ ‍

Do you offer fleet or commercial vehicle detailing? Yes. Our Fleet Services are built for businesses that need multiple vehicles detailed on a recurring schedule — including rideshare, delivery, and company fleets across the GTA. Contact us to set up a fleet plan.

‍ ‍

Should I detail my car before selling it? Yes — a professional detail can meaningfully increase what a buyer is willing to pay. First impressions matter, and a clean, well-maintained interior and glossy exterior signal that the car has been cared for, which builds buyer confidence and can speed up a sale.

‍ ‍

Booking

‍ ‍

How do I book an appointment with First Call Mobile Auto Detailing? You can book directly through our Services page, call us at (416) 524-4022, or email fcdetailmobile@gmail.com. We're generally available Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with weekend availability by request — just call to check.

‍ ‍

Do you detail cars in the winter or bad weather? Yes, we operate year-round, including winter. Interior detailing is unaffected by weather, and exterior work can typically still be done in cold or light precipitation — road salt buildup over the GTA winter is actually one of the most common reasons customers book with us. In severe weather we'll work with you to reschedule if needed.
